Privacy
What this site collects, why, and how to get rid of it. Written in plain language rather than legal boilerplate. "We" is Charged & Hungry, run from Washington State.
What we collect
Two things, neither stored by us. Google Analytics counts visits; and if you subscribe, your email address sits with the newsletter provider under our account. There is no account, no comment box and no contact form.
Amazon links
Product links carry an Amazon Associates tag so Amazon knows the visit came from here. Once you are on amazon.com, Amazon's own cookies and privacy notice apply, not ours. We never see who clicked: Amazon's reports show us totals, clicks and items ordered, never names.
Product photos are loaded from Amazon's image servers, so Amazon sees a request from your browser whenever a page shows one: the gear index, a gear page, or an episode or recipe that lists gear.
Fonts, video and social links
The typefaces are served from this site, so no font company sees you load a page. Episode pages link to YouTube rather than embedding a player, and the YouTube, Instagram and X links are ordinary links; nothing from those sites loads until you click through.
Hosting
The site is a static build hosted on AWS Amplify, Amazon's hosting arm, which is why Amazon appears twice on this page. The host may keep standard access logs (IP address, page requested, time) for operating the service; we do not read them.
Your rights
Nothing about you is held on this site. For episode alerts: the unsubscribe link in every email stops the emails, and your record stays in Kit until we delete it. Ask through the channels on the contact page and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
Material changes are noted with the date at the top of this page.
Ask through the channels on the Contact page. There is no contact form and no published address, which is itself a privacy decision — nothing to collect and nothing to leak.
